Accomplished musician Ian Mulder has once again teamed up with the London Symphony Orchestra to produce Christmas. The Dutch pianist continues his legacy of playing and conducting the orchestra as well as offering three original compositions and arranging. Mulder’s stark crystalline piano is unrushed hovering above the warm strings in "O Come All Ye Faithful". The pianist really shows off his style in "Angels We Have Heard on High". After a handful of variations the carol becomes statelier as Mulder’s showmanship continues. More deliberate playing by Mulder is heard in "See Amid the Winter’s Snow" where the piano sounds almost like a glockenspiel. The strings and winds blend beautifully as the orchestra swells. A highlight of Christmas is "The Birthday of a King" featuring celebrated violinist Carmine Lauri. He has a lovely succulent yet earthy tone that plays out this moving yet humble piece. Also appearing on the album is famed Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli who exquisitely sings "A Choir of a Thousand Angels". Ever the master performer, he magnificently holds onto the last high note at mezzo piano for a long, satisfying while. Christmas is ideal for the classical holiday music lover for its honesty, integrity and high quality musicianship. I recently heard Ian Mulder perform a live Christmas concert, and bought this CD. If you like truly beautiful Christmas music, you can't miss with this one! His own arrangements of traditional favorites and some new, original pieces he's composed are magnificent, and it's hard to beat the London Symphony Orchestra for a 'back-up' group. If I could award 6 'stars' for this music, I'd do it!

Truly breathtakingly beautiful. Mr. Mulder's Christmas music is definitely, by far, the most beautiful piano Christmas music anywhere. He is definitely one of a kind. This was his first cd, that I found a sample to listen to. I truly was shocked since I had never before heard a Christmas piano cd that could come close to the artistic talent and beauty of this music. And the instrumentation combination is totally perfect. He is a musical genius who has been blessed tremendously. I feel so thankful to finally have found his Christmas and Love Divine hymn type piano music that is like no other in talent, artistry and sound. All of his cd's, I am sure, are filled with nothing except very beautiful blessed music. Mr. Mulder's cd's bless my day with peace and beauty. Run, do not walk, to buy this cd...

So beautiful and relaxing, this is a wonderful CD to add to your Christmas collection! Highly recommend for the holidays...whether sitting by the fire gazing at the Christmas tree...or background music for a dinner party...or just relaxing as you drive during the holiday madness. Love it!!

Phenomenal and respectful arrangement of Christmas carols. The CD is wonderful for meditation and relaxation. Ian Mulder's technique is precise yet warm. And one can't help but be led to worship not by the drumming of a beat but by the timeless messages of hope, peace, and Divine Love.

Was absolutely beautiful and perfect selections in perfect order. Ian Mulder is a beautiful pianist and arranger. Also nice to have Adrea Bocelli spaced in there as the vocalist. We listened to it the first time on one of our long trips and we didn't even know the time passed.

This is the most beautiful Christmas album I've ever bought! I play it multiple times a day. Ian Mulder creates a very cozy atmosphere. Andrea Bocelli is an excellent choice, although he sings only one song on this piano album. I like the orchestra a lot, very warm sound.

I just have to own this album. Nothing compares to this album when it comes to instrumental renditions.
